H.R. 1, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, is a $789.5 billion legislative package designed to create jobs and spur economic activity. The legislation was signed into law by President Obama on February 17 and there has already been substantial economic activity generated throughout our nation, our state and our district.
While this landmark legislation provides the resources for recovery, many people do not know where to go for information or to apply for assistance. For this reason, I have assembled a Resource Guide to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (this requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).
There have been a number of projects and initiatives funded through the Recovery Act in our district. Here is a list of Recovery Act projects as of July 7.

President Obama has committed the federal government to transparency in the implementation of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Toward this end, a Web site has been created so everyone can track how the stimulus money is spent.
The State of Illinois has developed a web site to track recovery projects in our state.
