Belleville - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced the names of the students he has nominated to the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), U.S Naval Academy and U.S. Air Force Academy.
Each Member of Congress may nominate candidates for the U.S. service academies. The number of nominees is limited by the class size and the number of the member’s nominees who are currently enrolled. The nominees must then be screened for acceptance by the academy to which they are applying.
“Nominating young men and women for our U.S. service academies is one of the more gratifying tasks of a U.S. Congressman,” said Costello. “These will be the future leaders of our armed forces and of our nation and I take this responsibility very seriously. I am confident that these individuals will carry on the proud tradition of those that have gone before them.”
