Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that three area fire departments and an ambulance service have received Assistance to Firefighters grants through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.
“Properly equipping our first responders is one of our most important national priorities,” said Costello. “Our firefighters risk their lives protecting our communities and we owe them our full support.”
