Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that St. Louis Regional Airport, located in East Alton, has received $50,000 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through the Illinois State Block Grant Program. The funds will be used to conduct a wildlife hazard assessment.
“This is important work to maintain airport safety and protect the environment,” said Costello, Chairman of the House Aviation Subcommittee. “We have seen recently how dangerous bird strikes can be, and having this information will help the airport mitigate these and other natural contingencies.”
