SOUTHERN ILLINOIS AIRPORT AUTHORITY RECEIVES USDA GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Southern Illinois Airport Authority has received a $11,968 Community Facility grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of Rural Development. The funds will be used to purchase and install an emergency storm siren system to serve the area between Carbondale and Murphysboro.

“As we have seen again this year, severe weather can move quickly and cause tremendous damage,” said Costello. “Public safety must continue to be our top priority, and this funding will help protect our communities.”
