SOUTHERN ILLINOIS POWER COOPERATIVE RECEIVES USDA LOAN GUARANTEE

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Southern Illinois Power Cooperative, located in Marion has received a $29,489,000 loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The funds will be used to make system improvements.

“Southern Illinois Power Cooperative is an important energy producer in Southern Illinois and this funding will help improve its infrastructure, which is good for the entire region,” said Costello. “Maintaining reliable and affordable energy production is extremely important for our economy, and I will continue to work to enable us to use our domestic energy resources as efficiently and cleanly as possible.”
